Depending on your condition, you may receive emergency medical treatment onboard the ambulance. Paramedics will assess your condition and inform the hospital prior to your arrival so that the medical team is prepared. If you require medical transportation to your hospital of choice, you may call Parkway Emergency.
If you are a walk-in patient at the A&E and have a critical condition, you will be attended to immediately. For other non-emergency cases, you will need to go through the registration process, do a health declaration and undergo a check on your temperature and blood pressure. Please bring along your personal identification and/or insurance cards.
If you have a preferred specialist in mind, notify the admissions counter during registration so that the specialist can be called to attend to you.
Our medical team will take your medical history and pre-assess your condition to determine the level of priority for consultation and treatment. This ensures that all patients are given the appropriate level of emergency care.
On average, you will wait for around 30 minutes to see a doctor. This is an estimated waiting time and may vary depending on the severity of your condition and the number of patients at the A&E clinic. It is our priority to provide care to the most critical cases first.
During your consultation, our doctors will examine you and recommend treatment and/or diagnostic investigations, or refer you to other specialists where necessary. You may be asked to stay for observation after the initial treatment to see if your condition improves or requires hospitalisation.
At the end of your visit, our specialists will decide if you have to be admitted as an inpatient for further treatment, or if you can be discharged from hospital. You will also be given medication and a follow-up appointment at an outpatient clinic, if necessary.
Upon discharge, you may proceed to the pharmacy to pick up your medication and make payment. Do check on your personal accident plan, comprehensive hospitalisation plan or travel insurance, which may cover your expenses for your visit to the A&E.
