  • Dr Arthur Lee is a psychiatrist practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
  • Dr Lee’s clinical focus is on contextualising, assessing and treating mental health conditions such as emotional adjustments, stress-related changes, relationship struggles, role and boundary conflicts, obsessions and compulsions, panic attacks, anxiety, and depression and grief.
  • Dr Lee’s expertise includes drinking problems, internet and sexual addictions, impulse control disorders and general psychiatry disorders, among others. His clinical management involves confidential personalised evaluation, appropriate medications, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, education, counselling, and strategies for lifestyle changes.
  • He was the former head of Institute of Mental Health’s addiction medicine department, and Alexandra Hospital’s psychiatry and addiction medicine services. He was also a clinical lecturer and tutor at National University Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School.
  • His postgraduate training was at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Canada.
  • Dr Lee pioneered the addiction treatment and rehabilitation in Singapore with the modified Minnesota Model & the 12 Step Therapeutic Programs. He further refined a wide variety of addiction treatment modalities, support groups and clinical training for counsellors, MSWs, psychologists, and psychiatrists. He also led teams in setting up, developing and advancing emotional wellness and addiction support services.
  • Dr Lee was also actively involved in local and overseas scientific conferences, university teaching courses, seminars and examinations for doctors, medical students, nurses and pharmacists at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School, Nanyang Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic. He has also contributed to research, medical books and journal articles on addictions, general psychiatry and mental health issues.
  • Dr Lee was also involved in editorial panel reviews, addiction modules and curriculum writing, and was also an exam assessor and coordinator. He also held rigorous engagements in training, supervising and mentoring psychiatrists, in addition to formulating clinical protocols, algorithms and clinical guidelines for doctors.
  • Dr Lee continues to take a keen interest in medical and ethical advances in the treatment and prevention of issues related to mental health, addictions, role transitions and stress management, among others.
