Admission Guide

Admission Guide

  • Pre-Admission Registration

    Welcome to Gleneagles Hospital

To have your pre-admission registration processed, please come to the admission counters at the hospital lobby, level 2. (Open 24 hours daily). Your doctor or the clinic staff will make the necessary bookings for your admission into the hospital.

The hospital can confirm the availability of a room type only at the time of your admission. This is due to the uncertainty of discharges and emergency admissions in a hospital. However, if we are unable to provide you with the room of your choice at admission, we will make the transfer as soon as your preferred room type is available.

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you through the process from admission to discharge at our hospital:

On the Day of Admission for Inpatient and Day Surgery

    • Inpatient Admission Time

Unless instructed otherwise by your doctor, you should come to the hospital after 12 noon, as discharge time is 11am

If your doctor has told you that you will need blood on standby for surgery, you must check into the hospital one day before surgery and before 1pm.

However, if you are undergoing major surgery on a Monday, you should come to the hospital on Saturday before 11am for blood grouping and cross-matching.

    • Day Surgery Admission Time

Please arrive at least 2 hours before scheduled day surgery procedure time.

Day Surgery Centre is located at level 7, and the operating hours are:

      Monday to Friday: 7am – 4.30pm
      Saturday: 7am – 1pm
      Sunday and public holidays: Closed

  • Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are from 8am – 8pm. The "no visitors after 8pm" rule is strictly enforced throughout the hospital. This is to ensure patients have enough rest and are safe at night.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is a restricted area due to the serious conditions of the patients there. As these patients require plenty of rest, only 2 visitors are allowed at any one time during the visiting hours.

Visiting hours at the ICU and high dependency unit (HDU) are from 8am – 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 8pm daily, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is from 8am – 8pm daily. Children under 12 years old are not encouraged to visit these units.

    Discharge

Hospital discharge time is 11am. If you have to stay in your room after 11am but are able to leave before 8pm, you will be charged an additional half-day rate. Please note that bill preparation and discharge process will take about 2 hours.

Payment can be made at the cashier's counter at the lobby, level 2. You must pay the hospital charges in full upon discharge. If your deposit is more than your hospital charges, refunds will be sent after payment is received from your insurance company. For self-paying patients, your refunds will be processed after the bill is finalised. If your deposit was made by credit card, it will be refunded to your credit card. For cash, cheque and AMEX card payments, we will send you a refund cheque.

    Parking

Our car park is open 24 hours daily. Lifts serve the basement car park from 6am – 10.30pm. After 10.30pm, please use the stairs for access to the hospital lobby.

Valet parking service is available on Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 5pm and on Saturday from 8.30am – 1pm, excluding Sunday and public holidays.

A valet service fee of $10.00 is charged on top of the prevailing parking charges, and to be paid in advance when you hand over your vehicle to the valet staff.

After the valet's operating hours, the vehicle key can be collected from the hospital security before you collect the vehicle from the carpark.
