Parentcraft: Antenatal Classes for Expecting Parents

Our ParentCraft Centre offers expert advice for new parents like you through antenatal classes that address the practical, physical, emotional and psychological aspects of parenthood.

Who should attend antenatal classes?

Expecting mummies and daddies who have pre-registered for delivery at Gleneagles Hospital are highly encouraged to attend our antenatal classes.

When should you attend antenatal classes?

After your pregnancy is confirmed, your obstetrician will advise you on when to sign up for antenatal classes.

Most women attend their first class between their 8th – 12th weeks of pregnancy (end of the first trimester).

What can you expect in antenatal classes?

Our antenatal classes are designed to educate and prepare you for childbirth, confinement, and how to care for your newborn baby in areas such as bathing and breastfeeding.

We have a team of dedicated and experienced consultants who will guide you through what to expect, such as:

  • Different stages of labour
  • Childbirth and birthing positions for a comfortable delivery
  • Options for pain management during labour, from breathing and relaxation techniques to pain medication
  • Postpartum recovery
  • Preparing and planning for lactation and breastfeeding
  • Caring for your newborn, such as bathing and diapering
  • Monitoring your baby’s growth and development

Let our fully-trained team support you on a rewarding journey to parenthood and bonding with your little bundle of joy.

All antenatal classes are held onsite in Gleneagles Hospital. Individual classes conducted in English and Mandarin are also available upon request.
