Ong Kian Chung 医生是新加坡伊丽莎白医院的呼吸科医师。他的亚专业是重症监护医学，治疗慢性阻塞性肺部疾病（COPD）、睡眠呼吸暂停症、支气管炎、喘息、哮喘、气促和肺癌等呼吸系统疾病。
Ong 医生在新加坡国立大学获得医学学士和外科学士学位。之后，他作为研究员在美国斯坦福大学医学中心 (Stanford University Medical Centre) 肺部和重症监护医学系进修。他还是美国斯坦福睡眠科学与医学中心 (Stanford Centre for Sleep Sciences and Medicine) 的临床与研究访问学者。他还是美国胸科医学院 (American College of Chest Physicians, ACCP) 的研究员。
Ong 医生曾任陈笃生医院呼吸科高级顾问，新加坡中央医院、新加坡国家心脏中心 (National Heart Centre Singapore) 和圣路加医院 (St Luke's Hospital) 客座顾问。他还是新加坡国立大学杨潞龄医学院的临床讲师。
Ong 医生是慢性阻塞性肺部疾病协会 (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Association)（新加坡）主席，并被全球慢性阻塞性肺部疾病倡议组织（Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease, GOLD）认可为其在新加坡的代表。他的临床成就之一是为新加坡的慢性呼吸系统疾病患者建立了新颖的治疗方法，如肺康复、无创呼吸机和医院到家计划。
Ong 医生的研究兴趣包括睡眠相关呼吸障碍、肺功能和运动测试以及慢性阻塞性肺疾病（COPD）的疾病管理。他在《CHEST》、《European Respiratory Journal》和《American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine》等同行评审的专业期刊上发表了 70 多篇科学论文和摘要，并定期在大型科学大会上介绍自己的研究成果。
Ong 医生还是《CHEST》、《Respirology》和《Singapore Medical Journal》等期刊的审稿人，曾任《Medical Digest》编辑。目前，他是《Update in Respiratory Technology and Applied Technology》杂志亚洲分册的联合主编。他还是《Clinical Medicine: Case Reports》杂志编委会成员。
