Healthcare for Women

  • Women’s Health

    strong, athletic woman

Women take on multifaceted roles, be it as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, worker or caretaker. According to the Global Burden of Disease 2015 report, women in Singapore are living longer but lag behind men when it comes to adding extra healthy years to their lives. The good news is, some of the factors that cause ill health towards the end of life can be prevented.

At Gleneagles Hospital, we know women. We know that due to a woman’s biological makeup, her medical needs differ from men. With over 300 multidisciplinary specialists, we are here to help women meet their evolving healthcare needs.

  • Sexual & Reproductive Health

A woman’s sexuality may change at different life stages. Whether you are a young adult, a newly-wed, a working professional or an expectant mom, there are matters pertaining to sexuality and fertility that every woman should be aware of.

At Gleneagles Hospital, we know that having an honest and open discussion on this matter is important. Having an understanding of female sexuality may improve your quality of life and prevent health problems. From questions on low sexual libido to fertility and pregnancy, we are here to help address your concerns.

Find out more about sexual health, things to note for a smooth pregnancy, screening tests available, as well as post-natal treatment and care.

  • Integrated Health for Women

Apart from sexuality and fertility, women have unique health needs, many of which differ from men. In this page, we look at the hormonal, heart, and digestive health aspects with a focus on common conditions that affect women. We also explore health issues affecting the bladder, reproductive organs, and bowels under a specialty known as urogynaecology, as well as the key cancer warning signs a woman should look out for.

  • Managing Treatment Costs

    Health Financing

At Gleneagles Hospital, we work with many local and international insurance partners that can help to provide coverage on hospitalisation bills. If you have insurance coverage in the form of an Integrated Shield Plan (ISP), treatment may not incur additional out-of-pocket expenses.

Since 1 November 2015, Medishield Life has replaced Medishield. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents who contribute to the Central Provident Fund (CPF) may opt to purchase additional private insurance coverage on top of their Medishield Life. This translates to owning an Integrated Shield Plan (ISP), which provides access to higher coverage at private hospitals.

If you own an ISP, private healthcare is now even more accessible. Speak to our Gleneagles Bill Advisors at +65 6653 7566 to find out how you may ease your burden when it comes to hospitalisation and treatment costs.
