Dr Mathew Tung is a neurosurgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in treating disorders of the brain and spine. He also has a special interest in back pain and neck pain, nerve pain, and headaches.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. During his extensive training, he worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. While in the UK, he served at the Queen’s Medical Centre Nottingham, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
Dr Tung keeps abreast of the latest techniques by attending courses and attachments in Europe (SRS, SRT, spinal surgery and disc replacement), America (skull base approaches to acoustic neuroma) and China (endovascular techniques for vascular disorders). He believes in considering non-invasive options before open surgery to attain minimum morbidity and a fast return to optimum function.
He also lectured and presented at various institutions in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China on neurosurgery.
