Alex, Yeo Sow Nam 医生是新加坡伊丽莎白医院和伊丽莎白诺维娜医院 "疼痛专科医生" 的主任。他还是医学院（Academy of Medicine）麻醉学院疼痛处理科的主席。他还是新加坡中央医院疼痛处理中心和针灸服务部的创始人、前任主任和现任客座顾问。Yeo 医生是世界疼痛学会 (World Institute of Pain) 新加坡、印度尼西亚、菲律宾和泰国分会的现任主席。
Yeo 医生曾在澳大利亚悉尼威尔士亲王医院（Prince of Wales Hospital）接受培训，是第一位获得澳大利亚和新西兰疼痛医学学院颁发的疼痛处理专业认证的新加坡人医师。他还是新加坡第一位介入疼痛实践 ( Interventional Pain Practice)（美国）研究员，也是一名注册针灸师。他还是一名顾问麻醉师，并获得了当地专科医生认证委员会和澳大利亚和新西兰麻醉师学院（Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists）的认证。
作为新加坡疼痛协会 (Pain Association of Singapore) 的前任主席，Yeo 医生在疼痛处理方面被誉为 "福音派"，曾在本地和国际上举办过 100 多场讲座，还发表过 70 多篇文章和摘要。他认识到疼痛处理需要多学科的方法，因此为新加坡疼痛协会 (Pain Association of Singapore) 成立了一个由许多不同学科的知名医生组成的顾问委员会。
