Gleneagles Hospital is closely monitoring the ongoing situation of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world. Your health is our biggest priority.

We have implemented strict measures at our premises for the protection of our patients, visitors, staff and healthcare workers, as well as for the wider community. Rest assured we are responding to the situation by the day, and are adapting our operations to ensure our hospitals continue to be a safe environment for both existing and new patients who require medical attention.

Visitor and patient advisory

All visitors and patients must check-in with SafeEntry via the TraceTogether app or token, and keep the app running / have the token with them at all times. All visitors must also wear a mask throughout their visits.

Visitors will also be required to fill in the Visitor Registration form and Health Declaration form at treatment facilities within the premises.

FOR VISITORS (inpatient wards)

  • An inpatient may register up to 2 visitors per admission, with only 1 visitor allowed at the bedside at any one time up to 30 minutes per visit.
  • Patients who are in critical condition are allowed 5 pre-registered visitors, with 2 visitors allowed at the bedside at any one time.
  • Visits are allowed if both the patient and visitor are Fully Vaccinated or Medically Ineligible.
  • Requests to visit the following patient groups under exceptional conditions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis:
    • Patients in critical condition
    • Paediatric patients
    • Birthing / post-partum mothers
    • Patients who require additional care support from caregivers
  • All approved visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must show a valid negative antigen rapid test (ART) result obtained within the last 24 hours of each visit. Tests must be administered by MOH-approved COVID-19 test providers and are to be self-funded by the visitor.

All visitors are required to follow social isolation and infection prevention and control measures. These include:

  1. No entry for visitors who are unwell, on medical leave, or on quarantine
  2. Washing of hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or applying at least 60% alcohol-based disinfection rub on hands before entry
  3. Bringing of own mask and ensuring that the mask is worn at all times during the visitation. Visitors must wear masks with good filtration ability – these include reusable masks that are made up of at least 2 layers of fabric, or surgical masks.
  4. No eating and drinking allowed within the inpatient wards
  5. No using of patients’ toilets in the wards
  6. No sitting on patients’ beds
  7. Maintaining social distancing of at least 1 metre from the other patients and visitors
  8. Not communicating and interacting with other patients or visitors

FOR VISITORS (outpatient clinics & primary care services)

  • Outpatients may be supported by 1 accompanying visitor if required. Discretion will be given by management on a per case basis.
  • Patients/visitors will be denied entry should they answer “yes” to any of the following questions:
    1. Are you issued a Medical Certificate (MC) and/or have any of the following symptoms?
      • Fever (temperature ≥37.5°C)
      • Cough, Sore throat
      • Runny nose, Breathing difficulty
      • Loss of taste / smell
    2. Have you received a “Health Risk Warning” (HRW) SMS in the last 7 days?
    3. Are you currently serving Stay Home Notice (SHN)?
  • Specialist clinics will be reminded to inform patients of visitor restrictions prior to their appointments, and visitors may be denied entry should they fail to meet any of the above criteria.
