Dr Andrew Choong is a vascular, endovascular, aortic and venous surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore.
He manages the full spectrum of arterial, venous and aortic disorders, including aortic aneurysm and aortic dissection repair using open, hybrid and endovascular (EVAR/TEVAR) approaches; peripheral arterial disease revascularisation, limb salvage and amputation prevention; carotid artery disease and carotid artery stenosis surgery for stroke prevention; varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency management using minimally invasive techniques such as radiofrequency, laser ablation, adhesive closure and foam sclerotherapy; deep vein thrombosis thrombolysis and aspiration thrombectomy; and dialysis access surgery including catheters, arteriovenous fistula and graft creation.
He treats both common and complex vascular conditions, offering evidence-based, minimally invasive options wherever possible.
Dr Choong is the founder of the Asian Aortic & Vascular Centre and has carried out more than 5,000 vascular and endovascular procedures. He was awarded the Gold Medal by the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS).
He trained in the United Kingdom and Australia, completing advanced vascular fellowships at the Imperial Vascular Unit (St Mary’s Hospital, London) and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and was awarded a PhD by the University of Warwick for his research in endovascular surgery.
Before entering private practice, he served as Senior Consultant at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS) and Associate Professor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore, where he introduced new surgical programmes and trained future vascular specialists.
His practice integrates precision, innovation and patient-centred care, combining advanced aortic repair with modern, minimally invasive venous treatments for durable results and faster recovery.
