Dr Harold Heah is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He subspecialises in treating head and neck tumours, including thyroid, salivary gland oral cavity and sinus tumours.
He is also experienced in various surgical approaches such as endoscopic surgery, transoral robotic surgery, and using the da Vinci surgical system.
Prior to private practice, Dr Heah was the director of clinical services at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Head & Neck Centre. He was also a visiting consultant at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and went on to be a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He completed his otolaryngology (ENT) specialty training in Singapore and was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award to further subspecialise in head and neck surgery. He completed his clinic fellowship in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he trained in the care and management of head and neck cancer patients.
Aside from his clinical work, Dr Heah has also been involved in medical education by serving as a core faculty member of SingHealth’s otolaryngology residency programme. For his role in education, he was awarded the SingHealth Outstanding Faculty Award. He was concurrently adjunct assistant professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School and clinical lecturer at the NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
