Dr Law Weng Giap is a rheumatologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He has a special interest in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound. He manages various complicated autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic scleroderma, myositis and various forms of inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, etc.
Prior to private practice, Dr Law was a senior consultant in the department of rheumatology, allergy and immunology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He also led the scleroderma service there.
He graduated from the University of Sydney and got his membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK. He subsequently underwent specialty training in rheumatology at TTSH. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore, fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, UK and international fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. He has more than 20 years of experience in practising medicine.
Apart from his clinical practice, he was actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, as well as teaching postgraduate rheumatology trainees. He was appointed adjunct associate professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and was also the chairman of the clinical competency committee, National Healthcare Group’s rheumatology residency programme for TTSH.
Dr Law has an interest in clinical research and is the site principal investigator and collaborator of a several clinical trials in systemic sclerosis and psoriatic arthritis respectively. He was also the quality review officer for his department at TTSH.
