预防跌倒小贴士： 照顾患有骨质疏松症和骨关节炎的老人

每年，每 3 个 65 岁以上的成年人中就有 1 人跌倒。在新加坡，跌倒是老年人受伤的主要原因。了解更多有关骨质疏松症和骨关节炎这两种导致老年人跌倒的疾病的信息。
跌倒对老年人有何影响？
老年骨科或老年骨科指的是对老年人骨科问题（骨、关节、肌肉、肌腱和韧带炎）的治疗。髋部骨折、骨质疏松症和骨关节炎等骨科问题会随着年龄的增长而增加，而这些病症是导致老年人跌倒的主要原因。
什么是骨质疏松症？
骨质疏松症是一种骨病，当骨骼失去强度和骨量时就会发生骨质疏松症。当骨组织流失的速度高于生成的速度时，就会出现这种情况。随着这种情况的发生，骨变得更加脆弱，容易骨折。髋部、脊柱和手腕的骨头尤其容易骨折。
骨质疏松症的症状
骨质疏松症被称为 "沉默的疾病"，在这种疾病的早期阶段一般没有症状。到了晚期，你可能会出现以下症状：
- 背痛（尤其是腰痛）
- 弯腰驼背，随着时间的推移身高逐渐降低
- 髋部、脊柱和手腕更容易骨折
骨质疏松症的原因
增加患骨质疏松症风险的因素包括：
- 绝经 - 患骨质疏松症的女士人数是男士的两倍。更年期后的 5 - 7 年中，骨量会流失高达 20%，因此女士更容易患上骨质疏松症。45 岁前绝经较早的女士也是高危人群
- 白种人或亚裔 - 研究表明，50 岁以上的亚裔和白种人女士中约有 20% 患有骨质疏松症，52% 的人骨量减少，这是骨质疏松症的前兆。
- 年龄较大 - 一般来说，我们的骨量在 20 多岁时达到顶峰，之后开始下降
- 有骨质疏松症家族史
- 维生素 D 和钙摄入不足
- 体重过轻会削弱男性和女士的骨骼，因此很可能导致骨质疏松症
- 患有类风湿关节炎和甲状腺问题等疾病
- 服用某些药物，如甲状腺药物和皮质类固醇（通常用于治疗哮喘和关节炎等疾病）。
治疗骨质疏松症
骨质疏松症非常容易治疗。为了治疗骨质疏松症，医生可能会开一些药物，如双磷酸盐、钙和维生素 D 补充剂，以帮助增加骨密度。
预防骨质疏松症
要预防骨质疏松症，重要的是要经常锻炼，使骨骼更强壮、更致密，并注意健康饮食。避免过量饮酒、摄入咖啡因和钠，因为这些食物会导致骨质流失和/或影响骨骼的形成。
什么是骨关节炎？
骨关节炎是一种关节退行性关节疾病，是关节炎（关节炎症）中最常见的一种。当骨骼末端的保护性软骨被磨损，导致我们关节中的骨和关节之间相互摩擦时，就会发生骨关节炎。虽然 60 岁以上的人更容易受到骨关节炎的影响，但越来越多年轻好动的新加坡人因运动损伤而被诊断出过早患上骨关节炎。
骨关节炎的症状
骨关节炎通常发展缓慢，并随着时间的推移而加重。虽然骨关节炎可发生在任何关节，但它通常会影响手部、膝盖、髋关节和膝关节。常见症状包括关节疼痛、僵硬、压痛、失去灵活性、肿胀和磨擦感。
骨关节炎的病因
增加患骨关节炎风险的因素包括：
- 年龄 - 随着年龄的增长，关节软骨更容易出现磨损，从而导致骨关节炎。
- 性别 - 女性患骨关节炎的风险高于男性。虽然这背后的原因尚不清楚，但可能与男女之间的激素差异有关
- 运动损伤造成的外伤，如膝关节前交叉韧带 (ACL) 拉伤和撕裂、软骨撕裂、关节错位和韧带损伤，都可能导致骨关节炎，即使这些损伤已经痊愈也是如此。
- 超重会使人特别容易患上膝关节骨性关节炎，而减肥有可能治疗膝关节骨性关节炎。
- 遗传 - 有骨关节炎家族史
治疗骨关节炎
为治疗骨关节炎，医生可进行软骨修复手术，严重者还可进行关节置换手术。
预防骨关节炎
减轻体重、做低强度运动和定期服用葡萄糖胺等关节营养补充剂有助于减缓骨关节炎的发展。
老年人跌倒 骨质疏松症和骨关节炎的风险因素
骨质疏松症和骨关节炎这两种疾病会导致老年人出现流动性问题，增加他们跌倒的几率。
跌倒在老年人中很常见，可能会造成轻微伤害，如瘀伤和擦伤。然而，更严重的跌倒可能会导致骨折和头部外伤等严重伤害。这些都会导致身体机能下降，提早入住长期护理机构，并增加老年人的死亡率。
骨质疏松症的风险因素
- 骨质疏松症会导致平衡能力差，使人在绊倒后难以稳住身体，从而导致跌倒
- 骨质疏松症意味着骨密度下降，会使骨头变脆，更容易断裂
骨关节炎的风险因素
- 骨关节炎会导致疼痛，从而使人避免使用某些关节。这可能会导致身体不稳和虚弱，从而导致跌倒
- 骨关节炎会导致关节僵硬，这可能会影响你的行走或移动方式
- 某些治疗骨关节炎的止痛药，如阿片类药物，可能会引起头晕和嗜睡等副作用，从而导致跌倒。
预防老年人跌倒
年轻人跌倒后可以很快恢复，但老年人的恢复时间要长得多，这取决于跌倒的严重程度和他们的健康状况。因此，重要的是要做好周围环境的老年防护，并确保老年人在行动时得到必要的帮助。 预防老年人跌倒的一些建议包括：
1. 消除家中的危险。
减少跌倒可能性的最简单方法就是移除松动的物品，如电线、湿滑的地毯和杂物。危险的房屋装置（如不平的地板）也是可能导致绊倒的一些例子。
2. 在家中安装安全装置。
在厕所和楼梯等地方安装扶手和扶手杆等安全装置，可以大大支持您在家中的流动性。防滑垫也是防止在浴室滑倒的不错选择。
3. 确保家中光线充足。
让家里保持足够的亮度可以减少被地面上的物体绊倒的几率。考虑在卧室、浴室和楼梯等地方安装照明灯（如台灯、吸顶灯或手电筒）。
4. 咨询医生。
医生可以与您一起制定预防跌倒的计划。医生可以查看您的生活方式和健康状况，如您的用药情况和现有的疾病状况（如眼部和耳朵疾病），这些都可能导致您跌倒的风险。
5. 身边有人陪伴。
确保有人陪伴或协助您，尤其是当您外出或步行较远距离时。
6. 助行器。
使用助行器或步行器，并随身携带应急标签、电话或钥匙扣。
7. 复查药物。
与医生一起检查您的药物，了解药物的副作用，以便在药物让您昏昏欲睡时寻找替代药物。
