Dr Chuah Sai Wei is a gastroenterologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
Her clinical expertise covers a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, with subspecialty interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She routinely performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.
She was the former director of the IBD Centre at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
Dr Chuah graduated from the University of Glasgow, UK and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, UK and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. She did an advanced fellowship training in gastroenterology in the area of IBD at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, UK.
She was the co-chair of the executive committee for SGH’s Centre for Digestive and Liver Diseases. She was also on the SingHealth transition care workgroup and the vice-chair of the National Foundation of Digestive Diseases.
She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and is regularly invited as a faculty and speaker at regional and international medical conferences.
Besides her clinical work, Dr Chuah served on the core faculty for the SingHealth gastroenterology senior residency programme.
She is a recipient of several awards including the Heart of Gold Award and the Service with a Heart awards.
